Hello everyone im new here so this is my first post Anyway I've been burning movies for lil over a year now and day by day im still learning new stuff when it comes to dvd and this forum helped me out alot as far as my expiernce goes. But anyway the promblem im having now is that every time I download an dvdr movie and burn to disk and play into my dvd player the movie either skips alot or doesnt play at all. Im either getting and bad disk error or frozen screen. When i use nero i get an error message sayin that if i continue the dvd might not be playable but when i use dvd santa it burns but the movie skips. I get some movies that come out great but i can't make duplicate copies. I even try using different media and i burn at 4x speed..the disk i used were imation dvd-r, philips dvd+r brand, and maxell dvd-r. The dvd burner i have is an Rosewill Black IDE RD 162 Dual layer DVD+R DVD RW DVD-R. Im going to be using differnt disk that i just orderd from newegg.com TAIYO YUDEN 4.7GB 8X DVD-R 50 Pack Cake so Hopefully It can solve my promblems..but can someone tell me if im doing something wrong and wat not??
Have you tried using other programs to burn your movies? Other programs might work for you a lil bit better.
Try playing one of those backups that have those issues with your rosewill dvd-rw drive. Note where they take place so while you view those areas with your pc-you can get a good look at that area. That drive should play its own backups and the playback should be excellent. This will help to rule out stand alone fault or burner drive fault. Also try them on other stand alones and see how they play them. Those drives will help verify the problem. The philips and imations are usually crap. Maxell would be the better of all those brands you mentioned. If you can't re-rip those backups, something is definitely wrong. Media quality/too fast burn speed/paper-sticker labels/and maybe even your burner.Something's causing too many read errors.Could be a whole slew of other things. Try to post a nero log and edit out the serial # on top.It may look like this: 1A23-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx We can get the MID code from your media/see if your IDE-ATA/Atapi controllers are in DMA or UDMA mode.Maybe they slipped into pio mode. And a whole lot of other things. What are you downloading? Original dvd or some other type files?
thanks but im such a smart guy i figured out the promblem on my own..lol But the promblem was that the movies that i was getting, they had all the subtitles and and extra stuff that u would get from an regular dvd so all i did was use dvd shrink and re author the movie and it works fine now..thank
