I've been burning mixes on Feurio and Nero... is there anyway I can protect the cd from being burned by other people... I don't want people burning copies of my mixes... I searched and couldn't find any answers, any help is appreciated, thanx sleeper
hmmm, thanx but are there any programs in english... so i could read how they go about protecting the cd? or can anyone vouch for this german program?
From http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/3076.cfm -> my 1st post What does this tell us? - Right! Just for audio CDs.
just downloaded ccd-lock... cd clone has to be used in conjunction with this program? what if i want to use feurio, because feurio takes away the 2 second gaps... i can't run it through cd lock? and where can i find cd clone.... thank you for all the people who have responded so far
It's called CloneCD and you can get it at afterdawn software section: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/clonecd.cfm You can get exactly what you are used to from feurio by this: 1. Burn a CD-R with feurio as you want it. Be sure you use decent media and not too high burning speed as this will somehow be your "master" CD 2. Extract an image from it with CloneCD - use the CD drive that gave you best results quality-wise so far. To be sure nothing is wrong you could do this twice and compare the two .ccd files e.g. using EasyMD5Creator 3. Process the .ccd image with ccd-lock and burn your final CD-R(s) from the processed image.
hey tks ,tigr..will try this for audio.. any idea on what to use for video,MS office files?..i know..wrong forum to ask..(but guess im too pooped fm my vacation)
Yup. Correct. As a (time consuming) alternative to save CD-R media you could try messing with iso/ccd images using some image handling software like CDMage, WinISO and ISObuster. (I can't tell details as I haven't used these software for quite a while - and never for audio stuff. Maybe you find some useful thrads about it or knowledgable ppl in CD-R forum.)
alright, I've finnaly recorded a track that I want to burn protected... from the help directions for ccd-lock it says: how do I create an image of the Disc on Clone Cd? the only options I saw were, read to image file write to image file copy cd erase cd how do i CREATE an image file? if this is a stupid question i apologize in advance
You'll have to burn the track to a rw disc, then with the disc in the drive start up CloneCD and select the "Read to Image file" option.
Just a little pointer: CCD-Lock breaks Compact Disc Audio compliancy and you may have playback problems in some devices.
