I have switched from Av to HD the picture is amazing but i am not getting any SOund. When i did the automatic detection settings no sound comes up. SO i went and manually configure audio settings -> automatic (Error message sayd the HD does not support sound) -> Then i tried manual and only selected the 44khz and the 48.1 khz but still nothing.

Can not understand why the sound dont work cos i dont have surround sound or a theatre system just playing of the tv's speakers.Could someone please help me i am now getting desperate.

It may also be that your LG tv is using HDMI version 1.0. The new version, 1.3 has audio support, whereas 1.0 does not.

Have you tried going into the Audio settings of the PS3? It must be set to HDMI output for it to work properly.

    Settings
    Audio Settings
    HDMI output
