i was makin a pc out of a xbox xase but i stopped workin on it due to college work but got sum spare time but no money, n i have n spare PSU about. Im gonna get a powerboard that has like 200watts ASAP tho. Will I need to earth the PSU sumhow?
I'm sure you were doing this but just incase: ALL vent holes kept open, none resting on carpet, etc, and nothing blocking any fan ports. Also, no Drinks next to unit unless you like crispy critters!!! <G> Nuff said!

"Geezer," on the other hand, is a much more interesting slang word. Although we use it today to mean an old man, "geezer," when it first appeared in the late 1800's, simply meant a "chap" or "fellow" of any age. "Geezer" began as a dialectical pronunciation of a much older word, "guiser" (as in "disguise"), which appeared in the late 1400's meaning a masquerader or someone who wore a disguise. Both "guiser" and "geezer" were used to affectionately describe someone who was known as a "character" or "odd fellow," and it was only in the 1800's that "geezer" was narrowed to mean an old man.

ddp, the term Crispy Critters, that was a slang term first used during the Vietnam War… napalm… you get the picture.
right on & might even predate that to the korean war or the second world war as they used naplm there too
I know there was a Crispy Critters cereal from Post when I was growing up in the early 60s back when we just had mostly advisors and few troops in Vietnam before the Johnson presidency. I remember the cereal had a lion on the box. Don't know if it is still around or not. As far as running a PSU outside the box, the cautions the others have said would apply, but I would also have a ground jumper from it to the case. It's possible that they could get different electical potentials if they do not share a common ground - the case goes to ground in a different place than the PSU by sitting on a conductive surface. Normally the PSU is bolted into the case so you don't have that problem. You could get some transient voltage or even a shock by touching the case and the PSU at the same time if they are not at the same potential.

Linus the Lionhearted was the character for Crispy Critters and even had his own Saturday morning cartoon in the 60s. That page also said the cereal was reissued in 1988 so maybe that is what you are thinking of, not the original from much earlier. Crispy Critters, "The one and only cereal that comes in the shape of animals", was a sugar-frosted oat cut out in animal shapes. In some later boxes, the cereal box featured the addition of Pink Elephants, Orange Moose --- the color of oranage, and Grape Apes. In 1967 and 1968, White Pushme-pullyous were featured as a tie-in with Dr. Dolittle Crispy Critters was reissued for a limited time around 1988. It may have been an unfrosted version of the cereal.
The sad thing is that I still cannot remember anything about that cereal and I loved my cereal back then!!! I don’t even remember the commercials for it! Thanks for the links...
