***DAUGHTER IN DISTRESS !!!!!*** hi, i recently brought my daughter a nokia 7600, somehow she has managed to get it to ask for a PUK code ?? the phone dosent do anything anymore, can anyone help with this code ?, the phone wasnt new and she has been told its basically useless unless she gets the code which she cant get as she's not the registered owner ???? all sounds a bit Dr Evil if you ask me !, any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks guys !!!!
The code would have to be given by the original network and all information would have to be verified with that network such as name, password on the account and possibly more information. You can also take or sent the phone and have it flashed with non customized firmware and get the phone cleared or even try using another sim and see what happens doing that. PUK codes are something you don't want on a Nokia especially if you're not the original owner of the phone. PUK = (Personal Unlock Key) If the account is in your name with the sim, it may be possible but you would need to call the network you are with and ask. Explain the situation to them. If you do get this cleared up, tell her not to ever play with security code settings on the phone because 9 times out of 10, all it does is lead to the PUK problem.
thanks for the info... i think she's shafted, tried the network (3) and they basicly told me exactly what you told me already, so... what ive more or less grasped is that its the 'Sim' thats locked and maybe not the actuall phone ?... or is the phone destined for the recycle bin ?, bugger !!!!
