I purchased Nero 9 to download on my computer and ordered the "recover disc" at $16.99+$2 S&H.This was over 5 months ago and I never recieved the disc after I downloaded Nero 9. I tried contacting Nero customer service 1-818-956-7551 and it just disconnects me. I then left a message with tech support email. I got an automatic reply. Anyone else have trouble with Nero support?
Thread titled renamed from "Nero 9", such a title in a forum of the same name is as bad as "Please Help". In future please see here re thread titles ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/440385
Well, Scum 101, I'm new to using any Nero product which I bought 5 months ago. I emailed Nero tech support and included my order#, and price I paid for the recover disc that was never shipped to me. They emailed back today and said they will re-send the disc. The disconnecting phone ( In Calif) glitch(though I think they mean not to fix)still bothers me, but at least they answered the email I sent.Have they been not answering the support phone for the last 10 years Scum?
Nero support are legendary.. I'm actually impressed you received an email reply from them.. Consider yourself one of the lucky 0.001%
I am just curious...what exactly is a "Nero recovery disc"? You buy the damn thing online, get a serial number, and if you need to "recover it"(which from my experience means clean re-install), that is always available for download on Nero's website, you can do it thousands of times, no disc needed...Why are you tormenting yourself for more than 5 months? Edit: I just noticed that you paid ~$20 for it too...??
Hi Cyprusroom. I went back to the Nero website and I don't see a tab for free re-installing for customers. Besides, they change and upgrade the software and afterwhile, the your own version may not be offered for downloading anymore, so if I'm happy with my own version and something happens where I need to uninstall and then reinstall, the CD has the same full program that I am use to or happy with, that's all I want.
Whatever version you have, should be able to just download the installer off the net. For example: http://download.cnet.com/Nero-9-Reloaded/3000-2646_4-10028984.html or from Nero's website, http://www.nero.com/enu/nero9-introduction.html ...just click on the "Free Trial" and download the .exe. That should be the full functional installer, all you have to do is use your serial number(unless they have changed the way they do business;haven't updated from Nero 7 yet). You save that installer and use it whenever you want to do a clean install.
Hi Piss (lol) My computer came with WinDVD Creator3 and it worked fine for about a year and then I started getting Error messages half way through recording and so I bought Nero 9 and I didn't even use the free trial version. I needed to start recording again, so I wasn't interested in the free version, but the full version. I figured I could play around with it later and find out it's bells and whistles but for that time, I went ahead and bought it and haven't been dissatisfied yet. WinDVD Creator 3 on the otherhand....
No, I am not saying you should use the free version. The trial version IS a full version, that would work only for 15 days without a serial number. All you have to do is install it and use your serial number.
Hi Cyprusroom. I had no idea the trial version was the full version, but that is interesting to know. Nero website has a trial version and a lite version and I wish I had done this thread 5 months ago because it's always good to talk to someone whose been through the product and knows it as you do. I get befuddled if too many offers are offered so to speak before you even know what your getting into. I knew Nero products were good and that was it. Now I've learned to look up complaints about a product before I buy thanks to Google which lead me to threads like this. They really are very helpful!
i would delete the whole lot of the bloated crapware and start over with free apps from the word go.. we all investigated nero9 last year and decided it was a bag of crap. before reinstalling i guess you will need to run the nero clean tool to get the crapware entries out of your registry. who the hell buys nero anyway these days when we have wonderful tools like imgburn dvdflick avidemux autogk dbpoweramp and a whole host of freeware dvd and cd apps.
