puting a 320gb hard drive in to a xbox

    i know everyone and there dog has asked this question about how too put a hard drive in i am get more confused bey reading then i am learning first i have just recently put Linux on my xbox soft mod i have read about a patch that you need to get to put on and some say that they put theres in and worked just fine but i want to be safer then sorry so if anyone can help me out and kinda expline how to do that for me i would most appreciative i am real new in to the whole hacking thing and what not if any one would be as so kind to give a basic step bye step of what i have to do thank you would not be enough.

    Are you just trying to replace your hard drive? Follow the Hard Drive Upgrade tutorial on AD.

    sorry if i seem bit slow but i have been trying to get that all down and under stand that the problem is i have it all soft moded and i dont understand if i need to set something in the bios or if i need to do something speicle i am not good at under standing everything but i know how to keep it open and go from one to the other i just want to make use of all 320 gigs and that is what i need to know is if there is something speicle i need to do with that or will it do it on its own i just soft moded it like one month ago so it is a fairly new soft mod

    Is the 320GB Drive already inside right now and running?

    no it will be here from newegg tomarrow i order it friday night

    core2kid sorry i have not got back to you real soon but i got my hard drive and it was not an ide so then i reordered a new one and when i got it it was D.O.A so sent it back and go a new one which i had just got i let a friend take it he is going to ftp it for me then he is going to give it back and then i was going to ask if you could help me from there or did it have to be empty i should have asked that frist of all but i for got so any ways could i partion it or what ever i have to do with stuff on it and still use the full 298.06 gigs that are on it well if you can help let me know

    Download XBOXHDM, put the old xbox HDD in the PC as a master, and the new HDD as a slave. Boot the PC and run the XBOXHDM cd. Choose to clone the current master drive. Wait a few hours, lock the drive with the EEPROM file key, put new HDD in the xbox and viola! End of story.
