    Hey guys!!!

As obvious as it can be in the thread title, I am seeking info on how to rip all the individual trailer vobs on different DVD's, in a way where I can create a DVD full of trailers that I can loop in my store.

I have ripped all the vobs, tried to re-author using DVD Shrink, but will only recognise the trailers indicated in the VIDEO_TS IFO file.

I even tried sticking them all in the same folder (Renaming each of them in sequential numbers), but still no luck!

    How would I achieve this?

Cheers in advance for any help!

Here's an idea, go to p2p file sharing networks and download trailors and also go to the official movie sites, they will have great quality trailors and encode to svcd or DVD-R! Ripping the trailors from the dvd would be hard, perhaps because they are trying to protect the copyright warning which are in fact in the same files as trailors on most dvds!

I can easily rip the trailer VOB's, I doubt they are protected. What I want to do won't just be limited to trailers, there must be some easy way to compile a DVD from multiple sources!

I used to download the quicktime movie files and convert to SVCD, and it was a long and frustrating process to convert.
Plus, the quality was just average.

This way I get the DVD quality, a longer running time, "Coming Soon" subtitles, and the satisfaction of knowing it can be done!
    :)

Ok so, well what i reckon you should do is encode the trailers then use TMPGEnc's merge and cut to add them together! You understand that?

Hi I too wanted to make a DVD with only trailers and had a hard time. But here is a guide I made so you can follow.

    Tools:

    DVD Shrink (free)
    VOB Edit (free)
    TMPGEnc (free trial)

    Directions:

    1. Open whatever DVD you want to get the trailer from with DVD Shrink.

    2. Select "Re-Author" and drag only the trailer save it to a folder on your desktop.

    3. You should now have 1 vob file in your folder. Open up VOB edit and click "open" and open the vob file.

    4. Then click "Demux" and at the bottom highlight

    - Demux all video streams
    - Demux all audio streams

Save it to the same folder so we won't get lost. You'll have a "m2v file and an "ac3" file.

    5. Open up TMPGEnc and click "File" and then "MPEG Tools". You should be on "Simple Multiplex".

    6. For video input find the "m2v" file and for audio find the "ac3" file you made from above.

    7. And finally save it to whatever you want and save it to the same folder. Now you have a compliant DVD-MPG file and you can burn this to a DVD with just about any DVD authoring prog out there.

As for your Trailer DVD just make a lot of these mpg file put the all together onto one DVD and you have a continuous DVD playing trailers.

Well, I have finally stumbled across an answer that has a minimum of fuss.
I found this guide at the following link:

    http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=120021

Anyhoo... I have just completed my first trailers DVD, following this guide to the letter.
Yet when I insert the DVD into my Philips 711 DVD player (old I know, but good for the store!), only the first trailer plays (i.e. chapter 1), and then the player seeks for the next available chapter... checking the following chapters in sequential fashion, and then exceeds the number of chapters right up to 99!

Any ideas on what went wrong?

I used RecordNow Max to do the burning honours, onto a Pioneer A-04 at 1x speed.

    Cheers

Why not make it a little easier on yourself?

    1. Just rip all the trailers VOB into VIDEO_TS folder. When you have about 4.3G stop here.

    2. Now rename them in order like
    VTS_001.VOB, VTS_002.VOB and so on

    3. Use VobEdit to join them together as a 1G file

    4. Use IfoEdit to create new IFO files
    5. Use IfoEdit to do "GET VTS SECTORS"
    6. Test and burn!!!
    That's it!
Isn't it so simple doing this way. I've done it this way.

That is exactly what I did, duder!!!
The link in my post above was to a guide suggesting just that. And I followed each instruction perfectly, but only the first trailer played on my Philips.

However, in a recent development, testing it on my Toshiba proved that each trailer was actually there, playing in sequence (some, sadly, requiring to change the audio track to hear it).
Interestingly though, the first chapter/trailer finished at 1:53, with each trailer resetting itself as chapter 2, and all commencing from 1:54.

I am thinking that this would be a result of the VIDEO_TS.IFO file... and I am expecting that a bit of tinkering would solve this problem.
But I am not all too bright when it comes to doing that... would any experts out there be able to give advice???
    :)

    Cheers!
