Don’t know or care if it is illegal but I know you are not going to find it for sale considering its freeware, or ilegalware LOL! I would use DVD2xbox instead, also illegal and also freeware, just search for it, you will find it. Moding your xbox to use anything other than Linux is illegal, or at least I think it is. Who knows perhaps moding the xbox in any way is illegal. That is not going to stop anyone who is board and has nothing else better to do than mod an xbox from doing it, Hay! It beats robbing banks or snorting, smoking, ingesting or absorbing anally any drugs……right!?!?! At least in my book it is! Just don’t do anything that will take away profit from the “BIG Corporations” or they will have a tantrum and sue and prosecute you until they feel vindicated, because we all know they just don’t have enough money!……right!?!?!?

Linux is the only legal system that u are 'allowed' on the Xbox so things like EvoX (which i feel are totally harmless and non profit group) are illegal especially the BIOS because it contains Microsoft's code and they get very touchy about things like that...pxhddloader i have herd is 2nd to DVD2Xbox anyway because apparenly it is harder to use [i dunno about this cos i aint chipped my box yet ;-( ]

Geoz – Aslo, you may need to get rid of that Thompson drive, I had one in my xbox and it has reading problems, I had to use a DVD+RW (old Memorex) to get my dash uploaded, CD+RW did not work. You can get a Samsung moded or a sdg-605 on e-bay for around $100-$150 US, it seams like a lot but it will save you a lot of frustration and it will read all your backups and home brew programs. One of those sites I listed above has some home brew software and they even have the old DOOM software (PC Version) ported for the xbox. I have purchased the original Doom many many moons ago so I feel its ok for me to download and play, my old copy “de-rezzed” off floppys long long ago LOL!, its very nostalgic!

Stevo2 - Thanks i tried the yellow datawrite discs and they worked, also the purple ones work, they have to be burnt at 1x cos 2x and above dont work tho and make sure that they are 'closed' cos my xbox anyway wont play them if they aint.
I still might bin the thompson when it breaks down and get a PC drive instead...
To be fair it hasnt caused any major problems yet apart from recently when the drive opens it makes a aufull noise and it only goes away like 5mins later aswell
