    just ordered a qoob chip.
    their site says that the official bios will not play my backups (wish i'd seen this before ordering!)???
    is this just a standard disclaimer or do i have to go elsewhere for the bios

    The official BIOS is not supporting copied games, however there is a Bios 1.3a available which does.......... ;-)

    I have built in the Qoob Pro version. I first tried to run original games, and it did. Then I connected the GC with the USB cable to my PC. After automatic driver installation I started a BIOS Flash program and I installed the 1.3a Bios in a free slot.

    Now when I use a "back-up" I power up the GC. I hold the B-button and after a few seconds a window appears with one line which is the Bios 1.3a. Then I press the A button and the back up game starts.

    That's all.

    You can find the 1.3a bios here;

    Enjoy.

    i don't see why u have to press the b button. i have qoosx with the new bios and all i have to do is pop in the disk, press on, and wait. it loads it in like 10sec. no need to press any button. try not pressing it to see what happens. i used to press the A button to load a disc with DOLs and GCMs of roms, but i found that uselss too because the qoobsx reads that automatically also. I think the qoobsx is the gc modchip GOD!!
