Just started converting avi to dvd and read the guide up top. Now whenever I add my movie file in the guide it says to go back and put in "high quality" and "2 pass high quality". Then it still pops up telling me that the file is to big and ask if I want it to drop down to size and quality. I see when it lowers the size its closer to 3 instead of 4 which means I'm wasting quality unless its closer to 4. Would it be better to just code it at high quality then use dvd shrink? I think I'm loosing to much quality by dropping the size down that much.
i use dvd shrink. i can put all 5 bamtans on a disc and the loss of quality is hardly visible...a movie can be 1 GB and still look good.
