Question about burning HD-rips

    Okay, so say I get a HD rip movie, and I burn it onto a DVD-R/DVD-R DL, and play it on a standard DVD player on an HDTV would it still play the movie in HD? Or would I have to buy a HD-DVD player? Also does it have to burn to a HD-DVD-R?
