question about graphics card configuration...

    i have agp for graphics, its an old gateway 4100. i want to run autodesk inventor and solidworks but when i opened inventor i got a ton of lines and weird stuff in the drawing area. pretty sure its the ancient card thats in the computer causin this, i was wonderin if i buy a pci graphics card if that will increase my graphics or would i have to buy a better agp card?? THANKS FOR THE HELP

    If you are trying to run the 2007 or newer version if inventor, you will be suffering with ANY AGP video card. Inventor 2010 crawls on a x1650...and that is about the best you will find on AGP.

    my bad its an e-4400 mid-tower, i just wanna know if i get this pci card if that will work with my current agp card or override it, im runnin inventor 2008 and i just wanna be able to see what im drawing really, it doesnt need to be real great or that fast. i bought the computer for $40 dont wanna dump alot of cash into it. THANKS A TON FOR YOUR HELP GUYS!!

    It will overide it, though you could still use the AGP for a second screen.
