    Hi,
Been out of the burning stuff for awile now. But i have a question or two and am looking for a little help.

I have been using Taiyo Yuden 4X DVD-R Media General Purpose Version 2.0 with a Sony DRU-500A for sometime now with great success. Sadly enough i think the writer has finely had its days.

    My question is:

If i was to get a newer drive, say something on the lines of the BenQ 1655 can the Taiyo Yuden 4X DVD-R Media General Purpose Version 2.0 still be used on this drive? I have about another 100+ discs that i would still like to use up.

    I appreciate any help here!

    Thanks

Should be No problem! New burners' firmware should cover legacy media.
Usually problems occur when the situation is reversed with an older burner no longer supported with firmware updates trying to burn newer media.
