I didn't know where to post questions. I didn't see a room option for it, so delete, move it, or just tell me. Awesome Forum/Website!!

Is it possible to hook up 2 tvs on 1 satelite activated reciever but able to view different channels?

In other words, I have a DirectTV satelite. 1 activated reciever 1 non activated reciever and 2 tv's. Can I split the cable wire somehow from activated reciever to the unactivated one and view the channels with it on the other tv?

you can hookup two TVs though the same reciever by using the RCA inputs for one TV and using the cable output running it to the input of the other TV . bit NO you can't watch different channels

Yeah but see thats what I dont understand. With cable it's a line coming into the house but branched off into different tv's you can view different channels without a box.

Satelite coming into house, you can branch off into these boxes/recievers and view on multiple tv's. Cable companies once had us use boxes on each tv and charged us for them per month.

Why can't the tv pick up the satelite directly from the cable wire? Why do we need the boxes? There's a cable coming from the dish on the roof into my basement. If we hook up that cable to our tv, we should be able to view the satelite channels.
