    I have already had my Xbox Modded... they flashed the actualy MS eprom (with a version of executer) and have installed a new HD with evox (custom by the place who did the mod).. but i'd like to try Slayers on a different HD.. as in swap one out and put the new one in...

    ok.. here's the dilema.. I know it won't try and update the bios unless i tell it to (which i won't - no mod chip of course) BUT.. does it change anything else? I see it mentions a PAL/NTSC update is automatic... as this has been done will it buggar up what i have now?

    I just want to see Slayers Dashboard running...

    risky, or a walk in the park?

    let me know

    I can only tell you from my own experience. I have used slayers 2.5 autoinstall on two boxes and it worked like a breeze. The first one had a modchip and the second one was flashed with excecuter2. Both of the boxes was done the same way: I replaced the hd to the one I wanted to install, booted on the slayer disc and selected prepare large hd. It took like two minutes then it was finished. Took out the disc, booted the box and voala, slayer inside. Worked ever since on both the boxes. Niether of the two installs has messed up the bios, no problem. I cant guarantee yours of course, ant the PAL/NTSC .. well, I have PAL so it just work..

    OK 1st things 1st if the original mainboard bios has ben reflashed then you CAN reflash it using slayer's autoinstaller. So be careful!
    Swapping out you HDD is a simple case of bolting the new one in and then using the slayer disk to set up. Because the boxe you mention is running on a modded bios then it will accept an unlocked hard disk.
    The Pal / NTSC switching is automatic, however it seems to work a lot better on PAL boxes for playing NTSC games as opposed to NTSC to PAL, so there you mileage may vary if you have a US / CA Xbox.
    The Slayers Dash is actually the EvolutionX dashboard which is pretty much the standard in the "modded" Xbox community and is a fine piece of work. I use it myself.

    thanks guys...

    I'm not worried about flashing as thats an option with slayers.. more worried about any changes it does "behind the scenes", but i gather all it does is install on the HD, which is all i want.
