question about smog checks

    im looking into buying a car. but there is no smog pump on it. does anybody know if that will make it so that the car will not pass smog check? going to be in california. but anyone with any knowledge would be great.

    you have to have the smog pump on the car if you live in california unless if it is a pre smog car
