I used Krayzie's NDure Installer (this exploit uses NKPatcher and creates a Shadow C image) to softmod my xbox and I have Avalaunch as my default dashboard. I've used Krayzie's Extras to turn off the protective features and loaded my dash (this exposed all the system files on C:) and backed up the lot. I also have XBOX-HDM and might be getting an 80GB drive.

If I copy the entire contents of C: into the C folder of XBOX-HDM (and copy the EEPROM and such) when I run XBOX-HDM and create the partitions, will this skip the softmodding stages (i.e. getting the game again and installing the softmod again) or will I have to just install retail files and softmod the box again?

I've already read the tutorial and have the instructions printed and ready, I just need to know if I can bypass the softmodding stages because I have all the patched files ready. I copied all the C drive contents: nkpatcher, filler, shadow c image, stock dash, the lot.

I don't know that much about softmodding. Sorry, but I can't really help you.
