Hello. I was just wondering about the google checkout because you can save a lot of money using it. Now, I dont understand it. Do you have to pay a fee to use it, or eventually get charged? or why is free if it is? I just wanted to use it, but i didnt know if it will charge anything on orders cause it doesnt really say. Well any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It's Google's attempt to do what Microsoft's Passport tried to do - be a one-stop method of retaining all your personal and financial information, ostensibly for the purposes of expediting transactions at e-commerce sites. The downside, of course, is that Google is the biggest search engine and data-warehousing service on the planet, and can always change their terms and conditions, like any other company or service. Remember those $5 "surveys" that were all over the net years ago? Where you get a $5 coupon for letting them know everything about you? Sort of the same deal, except that you can't lie, as Google can use your credit card and financial data for verification. Most likely, Google reimburses sellers the $10. Personally, though, I don't believe Google gives away $10 per transaction out of the goodness of their hearts, but, rather, that they plan to make the $10 back and then some, eventually.
