hey i got a question about the program image burner. in the guide it shows them using the write speed of 8x. does the write speed really matter? can i make it faster? or will it mess up the quality? thanks
The only way to tell is to try it. Some people have no problems burning at higher speeds but if your discs are rated for 16X, I would stay with 8X burning. Why rush it?
burning is usually safe at half the rated speed of the disk.... if you have a 16x disk then burning at 8x is usually safe......keep in mind you have to have a resent burner to burn those 16x disks! you might need a firmware update and you can check here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php Firmware is programming that is inserted into a programmable memory area of your drive, thus becoming a permanent part of a drive. This 'software' is called firmware and can be updated with a firmware flasher. A firmware upgrade can add new functionality to your drive. Also bug fixes and improvements are done by firmware upgrades. It also adds more media codes and write strategies to the drive to improve burning capabilities and disk recognition. soooooooo use good media and burn at half the rated speed of the disk.
