    Hello All,

I am new to this forum. This is my first post here.

Forgive me for posting such a stupid question, but I would really like to know the answer.

Has anyone ever heard of the notion that, although we have an 80 minute limit on burning tracks on to an audio cd-r, that we should only strive to actually use about 70 minutes, when creating an audio cd. I use pre-recorded audio cd's, copy tracks on to my hard drive (Sonic RecordNow software, which version I have no idea), and burn them onto blank cd-r's. Typically, I have always tried to use as much of the 80 minute limit, but was recently told that in order to get best results only utilize 70 of the 80 minutes available.

Does anyone here have a comment or an opion along these lines? I would certainly appreciate it very much. Thank you.

    -Louis

i've seen somebody else ask that question & i don't think the 70 minutes out of 80 is the problem but at what speed you burn at. what happens to the lost 10 minutes except as lost space but burning speeds does matter. if you burn at the highest speed, it doesn't burn as deep as a slower speed does & the high speed burnt disk won't read in as many older cd/dvd rom drives as the slower burnt 1 will. so use the space but slow your burn speed down.
