I have a VOB that is 2.35:1, but unfortunately it's been stretched to fill a 4:3 ratio. Regular widescreen (1.85:1) looks weird enough when it's stretched, so you can imagine how distorted 2.35:1 looks when it's stretched to fit inside a full 4:3 frame.
I want to convert that stretched VOB to AVI so I can squeeze the video down to it's normal size. Then, I'll convert the AVI back to DVD so I can burn and watch this video on my TV.

Can anyone tell me how to convert VOBs to AVI? WinAvi isn't working. Or, if anyone has any idea how I could go about doing what I'd like to do using another method, I'd appreciate that as well.

    Thank you all so much.

did you check the guides section? There should be a bunch of guides to help you out there.
