Hi, I guess i'm a newbie and have been trying to make a DVD from my digital camcorder. I've imported the video onto my hardrive as an avi file, used TMPenc to encode into m2v and wav and used DVDit LE to author the video. For burning, I used PrimoDVD and dragged the VIDEO_TS folder and AUDIO_TS folder and burned onto a Sony DVD-R disk (DMR47). It works great on all pc DVD-roms but I can not get it to work on my standalone at home. I have a Sony DVP-300. When I insert the disk, it reads the disc as a DVD, but freezes for about 20 seconds and then flashes a C 13:00 and I have to eject the disc. This time around, i've saved the DVD as an image onto the hard drive and will use DVDdecrypter to write the image. Not knowing if this will work, does anyone have any clues/suggestions as to why it did not work the first time? thanks in advance for your time and help. Nick
My guess is either media or the burning application. Definitely give the DVDDecryptor in ISO mode a go. DVDDecryptor is very good at burning DVD's that work in standalones with that process. Also, it is possible that it is your player. www.dvdrhelp.com shows that your player will not work with dvd-rw and some have reported problems on it with dvd-r. So check that site and see which brands of dvd-r have been successful.
Hi, thanks for the response and i figured out my problem. During the authoring using Dvdit, i messed up the firstplay slot and therefore it wouldn't work in the player. Since then, it's worked beautifully. Also, my player is a Sony DVP-S330 and it reads DVD-R's just fine (the media was a sony dvd-r type DMR-47). I now use decrypter in iso mode to burn it works like a charm. Thanks.
