Okay, I just got an iPod Photo 80GB. I have a limited amount of space on my computer due to music files being dubbed over into AAC. files. I converted the WMA files into that type, it took up alot of memory, what i was wondering is this: Is there anyway i could store the files in the ipod, delete the converted AAC. files to free up some space, and have the ipod not erase them when it finds out the files are missing(sync) without having to remove the WMA files from My Music?
iPod can recognize AAC, not WMA. You can remove WMA files to free up disc space. I think you can also remove AAC, but you have to sync your music manually. But I am not sure. So you might as well delete one AAC song and have a test. About sync music from iTunes to iPod: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60940
