Hi, I'm a noob to the site, and have spent a considerable amount of time researching the specifics in Xbox modification. So as far as I can tell, I'm gonna need to break that bitch open and chip it... Xecuter 3 CE is the chip I'm intending to buy, by the reccomendations of various links... pretty much here's where I get confused... first, will I have to install a new dash? second, installing an IDE hd by the looks of things, and with that, what does locking/unlocking the harddrive mean? Many links have how to do so, but not what it actually is.... and then once i have the chip,drive and dash, I will be able to back up my owned xbox games on to the HD? Thanks and my apologies if I wasn't searching with the right keywords and all of this is actually very easy to find and I'm just dumb....
wrong section but locking sets the hard drive to boot the bios correctly and you have to unlock your hard drive to write to it (ie with xboxhdm) and you can still have your stock m$ dash but you will also get a hacked dash as well when you mod it
