    Hi,

I have a European iTunes account.

Since upgrading to iTunes 7 and quicktime 7 for windows xp I no longer get a picture in QT player, just a flicking green screen ( but sound is okay ).

My cousin aloud me to use his American Store account to download some free video. They play out of sync sometimes but picture is perfect. Any older video of my own ( including Pixar stuff I bought from iTunes and previews of iPod games )plays with that green screen even trailers from apple.com .

    Some help please.

    Thank you.

I seem to remember Apple changing some things because earlier software had bugs that allowed people to evade the copy-protection. Hate to say it, but you might be SOL here. Try uninstalling iTunes and Quicktime, and maybe reinstalling QuickTime or, better yet, the full QuickTime Alternative from www.codecs.com. If it asks during uninstallation, delete any stored settings but keep your licenses.

The problem is with Direct3D. I found the following solution after many weeks of GREEN and PURPLE SCREEN problems with Quicktime 7 (player and Pro).

on the Quicktime menu, click 'Edit', 'Preferences...' on the 'Advanced' tab, in the 'Video' section un-check the box for 'Enable Direct3D video acceleration'

Then just close the player and re-open.

If that does not work, disable DirectX in Quicktime by selecting 'Safe mode (GDI only)' on the same tab.
