I'm wanting to play some DivX, Xvid and 3ivx encoded files on Quicktime on a PC. I've got Quicktime Pro and it keeps pointing me to a website (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/resources/components.html) everytime I try and play one of the files, however there is nothing of any use on this website. I've got all of the required codecs as the files play fine on Windows Media Player and other video playing software, just NOT Quicktime. Does any one have any experience with quicktime? I've also got a couple of .MOV files that my friend encoded for me on a MAC that I've had to re-encode to AVI's to view them. I used "Super C" to re-encode the files, and the funny thing is that there is a preview mode in this program and I could view the MOV files fine in this preview just not in Quicktime itself. If anyone has any ideas here then they would be greatly received as the qualiity of the video has dropped considerably after being re-encoded twice with different compression techniques. (I've tried QuicktimeAlternative and that wouldn't play the MOV files either!) Any suggestions or ideas on either problem please! Thanks, Si )
