+R DVD broke my Stand-Alone Sony Player

    Hi,

I tried playing my +R dvd (which plays fine on my computer) on my Sony DVP-S570D. Not only did it not play (no disc message), but it broke my player. Now I can't even play the original store-bought dvds. It gives the same "no disc" error. How can I fix this?

    Thanks in advance.

According to the recommended website, Sony DVP-S570D does support +R disks. I took my player to a shop and was quoted $140. Does anyone have a link for Sony dvd player parts? I would like to macgyver it before buying a new machine.

    Thanks in advance,

Id be busting Sony's balls if I were you.. if said player is stated to play back DVD+r but doesnt but not only did not play the disc, it destroyed the player too.. get on Sony's sh|t dood.. dig out your warranty paperwork and see if you can make sony pay for the repairs
