Hi, can anyone help, I have just managed to fry 2 DS's by using the 4 gig micro sd hc's in the standard R4 card. Is there anything I can do!!!!! Please help my kids will hit the roof.
Well a bit more info! What do they do - my guess nothing? If its nothing then you have blown the fuse in the DS - bad news is its a surface mount soldered (very tiny) unit. And it was not the SD card - it was the R4 card itself
I placed the 4gig sd hc card in the original R4 card (rather than the new one I get with it), then put in the DS and it wouldn't switch on. I then put it in my other sons DS (that I switched on to make sure it worked) and that one then wouldn't switch on. Neither DS will now switch on or show any sign of life.
I think it is the fuse then (F2) this is a surface mount fuse, many people bridge the fuse with solder, however if the ds is spiked again then it is scrap. If you put the charger in, then it should start to charge (tests F1) You can get the fuses from eBay UK, however you do need to be very good at soldering as they are very tiny.
yeah, what happened was you got a fake r4, used the REAL firmware, then friedd it becuase it cant handle 4 gig cards. its a fuse located near the touch screen. you blew th fuse. just buy a neww one, or take it to a specialty shop!
Hey i am trying to do my r4 card but a friend told me i had to expand the files from rar files to nds files. i got the stuffit expander but i dont know how to do the actual expanding PLEASE HELP ME.
Download winrar Use google to find it, install the program, right click the .rar file, select the extract here option - it appears!
