R4 card problems card is currupt

    hi I rescently bought and R4 card and it has been working perfectly but then I went 2 play and i turn on my ds and it said sd card error, so i tried 2 put into my computer it said i will have 2 format it, i was wondering weather to format it and will it get rid of my moonshi files and if so how do i get them back thnx x

    Beware - this guy is a spammer, you will probably not get the help you need.

    All ds files can be downloaded from the site in my signature including the moonshell download. If you format your card you will need the firmware for your card, moonshell (if not included in the download), roms and save files to put back on

    sorry kittymat but where do i download them from because i went to the downloads section of this site but i didnt understand any of it please help xx

    There are 38 different types of R4 cards, each one of them has their own firmware to make them work - the wrong one usually results in the dreaded loading issue.

    On that site there are a list of cards, unfortunately you need to use the right one, as you will see many have the same or similar names.

    To get the firmware you have to click on the right card, select the latest firmware for your region and download.

    Unzip it - windows can usually do this when you right click on the file and select extract here.

    Then put it on the card, you then need to add the roms (usually in a folder - name it roms)

    As a short cut, if your card has a web address on it try getting it from there.
