I have recently purchased 2 r4's, i have loaded all the software that i have on my old one, but both new r4's when placed in the ds lite just say loading (no matter how long you leave it for)
Has any one had this problem if so, does anyone have any advise on how to overcome this issue
    thanks

As there are now 9 flashcarts all with the R4 name have you got the right software.

Some take SDHC cards (4gb and above) some take only up to 2gb

What type of R4 card do you have

hello where did you buy the new r4ds from are they original r4ds or clones/fakes ?

any chance you could post the link to where you bought them from .

original r4ds firmware goes upto v1.18 from here - http://r4ds.cn/download/r4_v1.18_kernel.html

there are however quite a lot of clones being sold ie r4 sdhc , r4 pro , r4 III , r4 deluxe and the list goes on and on ............

there could be the firmware you need here mate if you have one of the clone versions - http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ look under r4 clones !

they also have original r4ds firmware at linfoxdomain .

R4 revolution is the original card, your SD card should be 2gb or less (i.e. not SDHC)

Download the software from the site listed above (the first R4 listed)

hello mate , instructions for ysmenu for the r4ds as follows -

go here - http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=103879 and download r4ysauto and download the update .

go here http://home.usay.jp/pc/etc/nds/ and scroll down the page till you get to DS(T_T)DS and download this file 2008/10/21 18:00

once you have downloaded all the files you need you will have -

    r4ysauto.zip , update.zip + ysmenu0810211800.zip

unzip just the 2 of them so that you have 2 folders , r4ysauto + update .

now to create your ysmenu for the r4ds -

copy the contents of the update folder to the r4ysauto folder.

copy the ysmenu0810211800.zip to the r4ysauto folder.

now inside the r4ysauto folder is a r4 MS-DOS Batch File double click it.

it will ask which language you want type EN and enter

it will say update found do you want to install it type yes and enter

it will ask should the cheat database be updated type yes and enter

it will say updating has been finished press any key to continue so just press any key

it will say which flashcard do you use type R4 and enter

it will now generate the nescessary files once finished press enter

it will now say a skin was found in the directory do you wish to use that skin i typed yes and then enter

it will then say ysmenu can be installed in various languages type EN and enter

it will then say there are a few ways of installing ysmenu i typed 1 as a firmware and enter

now it has all the info it needs it will now create your r4 custom english.zip firmware .

once it has finished all you do is then unzip the r4 custom english.zip and copy the TTMenu folder and the _DS_MENU.DAT file to your memory card .

thats it you now have custom r4ysmenu on your r4ds .

sorry if this has been a bit long winded but it is a step by step guide that was the easiest to explain .

iff you get stuck or have any more probs just let me know mate , woof811.

ps. it might be easier if you print this page .

hello did you copy the ysmenu0810211800.zip to the r4ysauto folder because the error you are getting is because it cant find ysmenu0810211800.zip ?

    woof811.

ps. do not unzip ysmenu0810211800.zip has to be zipped when you copy it to the r4ysauto folder !
