My wife and daughter both have newish DS s. My Daughter has an R4 bought about 12 moths ago (with the spring), my wife's R4 is about 9 months old (without the spring). Both R4's are running firmware V.1.18 English, my wife can play Sims 2 Apartment Pets ok on her DS and her R4 works ok in my daughters DS. However, my daughter's R4 won't run the game, it hangs with a black screen. The ONLY difference here is the actual R4 card, my daughter can play all her other DS games but not the Sims. If both R4's are running the exact same soft / firmware then what could make one not work?
very strange mate both my daughters r4ds are the same as yours one with a spring and one without , both have V1.18 firmware and both play the Sims 2 Apartment Pets ok . what memory are you using and is it the same for each r4ds ? i use kingston 2gb memory . the one that dosent play the sims try deleting both the game and sav file from your memory card . then delete the v1.18 firmware completely from your memory card . now put the V1.18 firmware back on the memory card , you can get it here if you dont have it - http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ now put the game back on and try again to see if it works . let me know how you get on , woof811.
