I was wondering if anyone heard whether or not the R4 Revolution will be compatible with the new 4gb microsd HC cards.
no. while its possible to update firmware to add SDHC compatibilty to some devices, the R4 provides no way of updating its firmware, and I do not believe it is possible to add SDHC compatibility with just a kernel update. They may release a new version of the R4 device that supports HC, but current R4s are unlikely to be updated for HC compatibility.
You can update the firmware on the R4, i have done so mnay times. There is a chance they may add i to a future firmware release Thisis the r4 address Code: http://www.r4ds.com/r4.html you can download the current firmware from here

That 'firmware' can be updated as it is only an encrypted NDS file, the REAL firmware on the R4 boots this file to give you all the features of the R4, however this real firmware cannot be updated so although you can update all the features etc. by replacing the _DS_MENU.DAT you cannot update the way the R4 reads from the MicroSD as this part of the R4 is not updateable - therefore you can't update it to use SDHC. Although this is a drawback it was also one of the features of the R4 that kept the price so low. (read only chips are alot cheaper than those you can write to)
