Ok so here goes.. i bought my gf a R4 SDHC cartridge for her DSi as she's never off my DS Lite with an R4. so it turned up today and im yet to get it to work.. i'v followed various guides in case there was something i wasnt doing correctly. i'v also tried different software from various website's but the peice of shit thing doesnt want to work! I turn it on, i select the R4 icon, then a black screen appears with 'power off the console blah blah' I do understand that the r4 card doesnt work with the current v1.4 firmware BUT im running v1.2E i'v also tried the other micro sd card from my other r4 card from my DS Lite. WTF going on?
You are not alone. I'm having the same problem, except that my Dsi has been updated to v1.4. Are you sure yours hasn't been updated? I get the same error message. I haven't received an answer from the vendor that I bought my card from, but when I do I will post his answer here.
I'm aware that firmware v1.4 is not compatible, i'm 100% sure im running v1.2E. I go to system setting and on the bottom right of the top screen it says 'Ver 1.2E' I'v also emailed the vendor and im also yet to receive any info on this. As im running 1.2E which is an older firmware do i need a certain kernal or anything like that?
