help please got a new r4 and 2g sandisk card from amazon have downloaded kernal as told but when i put in ds just get black loading screen is there any checks i can do to make sure not a fake and what do i do to fix
I would suggest that you start by reading some of the existing threads. This problem has only been reported, say 20 times this week. You should probably start with this thread. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/742531 Once you figure out WHICH R4 you have perhaps someone can help you.

OK, first off, it's not R4 111. It's R4 III (roman numeral three) Find a post by Kittymat. (corrected. sorry about that) Look in his signature, he has a link to where the firmware appropriate for your flashcard can be found. Looks like the latest is 3.08. Upgrade to that firmware and the problem should go away.

Hello - did someone call!! My signature has the link for the website mentioned - it lists all the flashcarts with the latest (and also older) firmwares.

Im stuck on the loading screen after followin a step by step guide on youtube however i was using a 1gb card in my R4 SDHC as ive been reading am I now correct on thinking that i need at least 2gb? Cheers guys
