R4

I have had a nintendo DS R4 for about 6 months but i hav never put my own games on, someone else has for me! I admit im not a wizz with computers, I know my fair share but...
I have just downloaded 2 games off www.romulation.net but they are not going on to my ds right, They are an RAR file as all my others are SAV and NDS. Please HELP !!!!!!!!

 

You need to unzip them as they are currently compressed....Something like WinZip would do the trick.

 

download winrar (free basic use), right click the rar file and select extract here, you will get multiple files, the only one you are interested in is the .nds

Rename the file to what you like (the .sav file will be made by the flashcart. If the cart will not play the file the firmware will need updating, with the R4 this is where the problems begin. If its the original then there is no more updates and you need to look as Ysmenu (different firmware) or arm 7 patching. If its oe of the other 23 available R4's then you need to get the right firmware or you get the dreaded loading issue

Did you try right clicking the .rars and clicking extract here?

 

Hey omg i have this problem too a friend told me to download the stuffit expander so i did but i dont know what to do with it as all my games are still rar. files. if you find out what to do could you please help me cause my brother is begining to get very impatient with me grr.
