R4ds advance fake

Hi i bought a r4ds and was sent a r4ds advance instead,The site that i bought it from sent me a link for the kenel but when i put it in to my ds it says THIS IS FAKE!! Can anyone help me please.Thanks

If you purchased an paid for an R4 and received a clone, you might want to pursue that angle.

Personally, I would be angry at such a substitution.

 

Gail, it sounds to me like you have the same problem i had with a R4 i bought today.I had both the loading screen problem and the "this is fake!!" problem.

If you use the following update (i got theh web address off the box), the R4 should work (mine works fine now. I will warn you though it downloaded very sloooooow!

Hey Snorlax22,Believe me i am angry i went on to the site that i bought the card from and asked for a refund but like a lot of people thats asked i got no reply.

 

i had the same problem ,i got an r4 about 12months ago never had any problems,then i got another for a friend ,the box and reader looked the same but the card had SDHC on it,i tried the web site on the box couldnt get it to download then i checked the box and noticed a small cd ,i put it in the pc and clicked explore ,i found 2 files 1 english and 1 french ,i clicked on the english and follow the instructions by copying the english files on to the microsd card ,put card in the nds and it works ,so anybody having problems with there cards check to see if theres a cd in the box

 

I didn`t get a disc i mailed the company and they said that it didn`t come with one,They sent me a link for the kenel but that didn`t work either. I have tried lots of kenels all i get as i said before is this is fake or just a loading screen.

have you tried formating the card through your pc,and try loading the files on your card again

also have you got another micro sd card ,you may have 1 in your mobile you could try using that as it may be your sd card thats the problem

 

Hi meadow24 the memory card that i have is a micro sdhc 4gb the card is also a r4dshc,I did format the card with fat32.

 

i would try a smaller card ,that could be your problem a 2gb card is still plenty

I'm 100% new to all this, but here's what I have found regarding R4.

I have the R4 (Rev2) and I installed the latest firmware v1.18 on it and it worked !

Maybe THIS firmware will work on your Advanced card since this site is all about the Advanced one.

Tonight, I found this website that has v1.19 firmware which should work on my R4 (Rev2)

Still needs to be tested, since with v1.18 I have one game that won't work (Carnival Games), game won't start, let's see if v1.19 fixes that for me without spending more money on M3 Real which I was told I should get, since today it's the best out there now (SO I was told).

That v1.19 firmware fixed the issue I had with "Carnival Games" it all works now...

Seems to run some patch before the ROM loads, so whatever they did fixed it !

I recently bought an r4 deluxe also. only to have the exact problem being discussed here.... from what i understand the deluxe is a fake.
supposedly some say there is a kernel that will work with it but i have yet to find one.
