Please understand, i'm no tech person and don't really understand everything thats being said on the threads so i'll just say it as it is.

    I have a DS Lite.
I have purchased a 4gb micro SDHC card a USB reader thing that it goes into which goes into the computer and a R4 thing that the card goes into that then goes into the DS Lite.
I was supposed to get a CD with it and it was all supossed to be idiot proof! yeah right, i knew it was too good to be true...the CD never turned up and cleverbase.com didnt seem that bothered or interested in helping me.

I've done everything i can, downloaded kernals, unpacked them and put the files on the Micro card but everytime i do anything when i start the DS it just has the words Menu? on the top screen and nothing elsen anywhere.

I downloaded the kernal English-1.18 used winrar to unpack it
On the micro card i have the following files

    _System_ (folder)
    Games (folder)
    Moonshl (folder)
    _DS_MENU.DAT
    _DS_MSHL.NDS

Can anyone help please, in simple to follow steps if poss

    Thanks

I have a friend who has the 2GB version, that is the 2GB Card with the R4 (not R4III upgrade).
I tried this on my DS and it worked, i then tried the 2GB card with my R4III and it did exactly the same as before, that is nothing on bottom screen and just the word MENU? on top screen.

With that in mind i'm now led to believe that the R4III is not compatable with the DSLite as well as the 4GB card....but i'm just guessing here.

what you need is the firmware for your R4 version. i think theres about 9 different R4 out there.
on your R4 packagin, theres should be a website listed. go there for the correct firmware.
if yours is a R4-III then uses this firmware, http://www.r4dsl.net/download-en.asp
    btw, R4-III can use sdhc.

I have downloaded and tried every single piece of software for the R4iii from the website listed and still no joy. I have tried a 2GB card in a standard R4 and it works fine so i know its not the DS. I have put the 2GB card into the R4iii and it does not work, so i now know that the R4iii is not compatable. The 4GB card in the R4iii still does not work even after trying the software recomendation from the company who sold it to me.

I can only conclude that the R4iii as well as the 4GB card are not compatable.

Try the website in my signature this lists all the firmwares, I believe there are several R4 III - try a different firmware.

    Hi
    I know whats the problem.
R4 III SDHC doesnt use same system software (kernel) as R4.
go to the site www.r4iiisdhc.com and download kernel from there.
    Than should help.
