I have a Gateway FX computer Intel 930, 9 GB ram running Windows 7 Home Premium Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 The computer will start normally and under Windows Task Manager ram usage is about 1.7 GB to start then it slowly goes up if no programs are running but goes up fast if there are big programs running. Once the ram usage gets to about 6GB, it crashes and I have to turn it off with the button. I ran Spybot Search and Destroy, Super Antispyware, Malware Bytes and AVG but the computer crashes before Kaspersky will finish running. The problem began about 3 days ago. The only thing that has changed on the computer recently is a couple of Windows updates. More info: The only numbers going up on Task Manager \ Performance was Physical Memory Usage History and Kernel Memory Nonpaged I went to processes and had to add Memory NP Pool and the only file that had a number going up matching the Memory Usage History was: Program files\x386\north star\photoframe That file starts when the computer boots up. I can go to Task Manager and end that process and the memory usage goes back to where it should be. I don't know what that program is but I need to get rid of it. How do I do that?
Can't see too much in the log. Try installing malwarebytes anti-malware free version but just make sure to click the update tab to get latest defs before scanning. Also dounload the following just to make sure pc is clear. http://www.kaspersky.com/virus-removal-tools Download the tool at the top of the list and run it.
It's the software for one of those cheap digital picture frames.. it's looking for the thing it is trying to load a picture into .. run CCLEANER .. and then remove it from the startup applications.. or delete it completely.
