i've got cyberlink power to go software, can i get an upgrade so that my pc will read dvd-ram discs???
windows xp home edition. rewriter-philips,pbdv1640p,version-5.1.2535.0...!? any help? i know that my sofware is not compatable with dvd-ram. is there any other way to get this clip back onto dvd-r??
1. Find friend with DVD recorder with HDD or PC that reads DVD-RAM 2. copy it to HDD 3. burn it in suitable format to compatible disk eg DVD-R DVD+R DVD-RW DVD+RW
There are ways to do what you want, but probably not with the hardware that you have. DVD-RAM discs produce a MPEG file that has a .VRO extension (as opposed to .VOB for DVD-R video) Some people have claimed victory by changing the .vro extension to .mpg. I'd do this on a COPY of the file if you want to try. There's also some programs that will convert vro to AVI MPEG and several other formats. They're cheap but not free. I use AVS Video Converter and I think it was about 20-30 dollars. It works well. The other thing that you can do for not much more is to replace your burner with a multiburner like the LG GSA-H42LI which I got at Best Buy for $50 on sale.
thanks for that, but it seems to much hassle for the job... could i get my cyberlink software upgraded to work with RAM?
You asked that already, and you already got the answer that your DVD drive won't read DVD-RAM disks. What's the matter? Didn't you like that answer? You can keep asking the same question, but it won't magically change your DVD drive.
