Hello i have a problem, a problem which is driving me mad!
My pc keeps unexpectedly rebooting... it boots up normal... gets to the desktop... then reboots, without warning, theres no pattern either!!! Its not a virus, I have the problem, even before Im on the net, witha clean install of windows! To help me help you... heres my sytem spec!

Windows 2000 (all updated with packs etc...)
    2.1BG Athlon processor
    392.886 kb RAM
    300w psu
    AT/AX compatible Motherboard
Geforce 2 (my other geforce 4 caught fire... sigh)
    ADSL usb modem

Now ive had a different motherboards, different graphics cards, and also tried win XP...the problem still persists! When i disable auto shutdown... it blue screens, with random, error codes... remeber I said it was always random! One week it may not do it, another... all the time.

Its a nightmare... and as a result darnt upgrade anything anymore until i know for sure what the problem is.

I've been told it could be...

    Bad ram
    Bad psu...

but it just one day started happening... so whats the problem?

Please help. other forum have yeilded no soloutions

Have you tried swithcing ram or psu? I had the prob in the past and a new PSU sorted it. New one was nothing special, the old one had just given up on me.
Hope it helps and hope you get sorted.

ok have you have you been online before this started happening.. I had the same thing happend to me, and i though it wasnt a virus when infact it was. I rebooted mt system and it was still there even after reinstalling everything. But virus dont just go away is there any programs u didnt delete before reinstalling your windows? If its not a virus unplug your computer. and open the sucker up. make sure the fan works and that all the right wires are plugged in if you dont know wut your doing stay away from opening it!.. if you have any more question id be sure to help you. <no emails please>
