I posted this topic earlier but I'm reposting so more people respond. My xbox hdd died so I installed a mod chip (smartxx v3, solderless)and after I installed it my xbox started randomly shutting off. I have since the last post discovered that if I wrap the power cord around the xbox going over the top first it usually stays on the longest. so do I have to replace the power supply or could something else be causing it and I've already tried a few different power cords.
What do you mean by Random shutdown? Did it turn on and off a few times than just stay off?......Did you install your modchip right?
watch the heat on the back of xbox and temp of CPU and motherboard on dashboard. Your xbox may get overheated.
I mean I'll be playing and randomly it will just turn off completely and I'm pretty sure its not overheating because a lot of the time I get the problem right when I start to boot up, only when I fusk around with the power cord (bending it in different directions etc.)can I get it to play for a while. also I have already tried taking out the modchip and reinstalling it didn't change anything
