they serve different purposes. unless you've got some kind of compatible player, ratdvd files aren't meant to burn and pop in a player and watch on tv. ratdvd files are mean to compress and archive video files without a major loss in quality. true, you can hook your pc up to the tv and watch there, but the main purpose is just to watch the files on your pc and archive them to de-compress and burn later. dvdshrink is *just* to copy, compress, and burn to a blank dvd. that's it's only purpose, and thus it creates the typical dvd file structure in a folder, not just one video clip in .mpeg2/4 format. so if you're looking to archive or carry a lot of movies in a little space, ratdvd it is. if you're looking just to backup your movies and have them playable anywhere, Shrink it is.
