K so the time has come and ill be building a pc very soon. Probably within a week or two. I just wanted to know what everyone thought and to make sure im not missing anything. Also any recommendations will be appreciated. psu-CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W cpu-Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz cpu fan- does anyone have any recommendations other wise ill be getting this Tuniq Tower 120 Universal CPU Cooler 120mm Cooling Fan dvd player/cd rom- just getting basic stuff nothign special here- LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM, Pioneer Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD OP- windows vista home premium RAM- OCZ Platinum Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000, 5 cas latency motherboard- GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS4 case- APEVIA X-JUPITER G-Type HD- Would like a recommendation for this otherwise, Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 750GB Hard Drive - 7200RPM, 32MB sound card- Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE, just a basic thing Monitor- im really not sure, i want a 22 inch monitor with a good price does anyone know of one. video card- xfire 4850's or 1gb 4870? mouse- Logitech G5 keyboard-Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard Basically i will be gaming/ downloading alot. So i need the quad core i dont want a duel core. I also have one question the video card im stuck between 2 512mb 4850's in xfire or a 1gb 4870 any help is appreciated.

the Tuniq Tower 120 is great, so you should stick to that. the HDD should be fine, both the deskstar and the WD for crossfire, if your going to crossfire either the hd4850's or 4870's, i would go for the 4870's if you have the money. what resolution are you planning on using?
Let me explain what i ment a little better with the video cards. Ill be playing a 22 inch monitor whatever res that is i forget 1680x1200 maybe i dont remember. Anyway im choosing between a crossfire 4850 set up. OR 1 4870 but it has 1g of video memory. So basically whats more worth it the 4850's are like $320 and the single 4870 is like $300.
Hard to come across some decent 4850 CF benchmarks, but the 1 gig version of the 4870 is only slightly more powerful than the 512, don't expect a huge improvement. Judging by common sense though 2x 4850 should be more powerful than a single 4870.
I haven't seen anything new or amazing hit the market lately. Monitors don't really seem as dynamic as other computer hardware. Change seems to come more slowly. They don't ship to Canada if you live up here but most of their customers are a lot more knowledgeable than one who shop at the big-box electronic chains so the extensive customer reviews can be quite handy. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the assumption that no matter what kind of monitor you get, the actual LCD manufacturer is the same for most everyone. Where the Samsung/Acer's merely add the form factor and the hardware for your monitor to talk to your PC.
The system is fine if it will handle what you intend on doing. Also i would recommend buying (or at least looking) a monitor at an actual store so you know you'll like it's color.
