I upgraded my monitor from a 10 year old 20" HP (A4331A) last year and it still works. I really don't have any use for it so its been sitting in my garage. I have some spare DVD players and I was thinking would it be possible to watch DVDs on the monitor through a RCA output to VGA adapter. I have seen these adapters on ebay for sale but normally they are used as only VGA output to RCA with the use of a VGA card with that specific capability.

Would this adapter work in reverse as RCA output to VGA? If it won't, what else do I need to make it work? Below is the ebay link with the adapter I may get.
