heres something i havent thought about much.im sure many out there are using older, non supported versions of ms office.im using office 2000 premium.i dont use it often and it does what i need.had to install the office 2007 compatibility pack so it would work with docx.my question is,what about security? once the compatibility pack was installed i started to receive some security updates for office 2007 which installed without a problem.i dont know if they actually do anything to protect office 2000 tho.since they discontinued support for office 2000 in 2009 ive had no isuues.any thoughts?
That's something I haven't thought about in a very long time. I have office 2003 on this computer and an office 2010 update that may be the compatibility pack..?? I no longer get updates.. As far as security I have EMET installed to keep the exploits out. but avast, MBAM, etc. should take care of the rest...
free alternatives in no particular order libre office openoffice apache open office http://www.techradar.com/news/softw...ternatives-5-suites-to-save-you-money-1139295
LOL, I have tried those and like openoffice but, am not paying for office 2003, am familiar with it and it works well and is quite safe therefore, I see no need to change.. HI scorp, how are things in NZ?
right now warmer than it was yesterday, winter lulled all us Aucklanders into a false sense of security with temps from 16-18 degrees celsius for last two months,it was as if spring arrived, now we're right in in amongst it,with over night temps as low as 3 & midday temps of 10,acclimatisation's a bitch this time of year, just get used to colder weather then gets colder along with a biting wind
Yeah, you guys down under this time of year are missing it. It's been 41c or 105F everyday this past week. Getting close to the "Fry an egg on the sidewalk" that comes in July and August....
oh yeah your not in the humidity belt are you.god i hate you right now.lol.bit cranky right now as ive got my usual summer cold complete with a fever of 99.5f.cheers.
definitly in the humidity belt because of the great lakes but this whole yr has been colder then normal.
@2oldGeek that sounds like an aussie summer and people did fry an egg on pavement and upload it to you tube last summer here. @scorpNZ sounds a lot like weather in australia atm,we are getting about 3 degrees with maximums of about 20 degrees celcius.By the time i get use to it be a burning summer again. @ddp i hear canada in parts is still getting storms, heard its up and down like a yoyo atm. We are also in flu season here, i'm not dying yet but have been going suddenly hot and cold and sneezing a bit.
