OK... last thing then... we'll get rid of the orphaned services in your log. Click Start>Run, type in cmd and hit Enter. From the Command Prompt type: sc stop AOLService - then hit Enter Then type: sc delete AOLService - then hit Enter. Do the same for BDMBKZBCJX and SPYWAREfighterRP Reboot when you are done and post a new HijackThis log please.

The only other small issue is when trying to download adobe reader 8 - I get error mess 1406. Could not write value to key /software/classes/.pdf/PersistentHandler which I think is something to do with administrator permissions, which I have..also start up is very slow and sometimes pc does not shutdown by itself..any ideas?? thanks Julie
From what I've read... you are going to need Take Ownership of that Registry Key and it Sub-Keys. Then give your User Account Full Control over them. Here is an MS Article that details how you can do that: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310426 See if that helps you with the Adobe issue. As for the slow startup and shutdown... not sure... could be the combination of Windows One Care Live and AVG. They might be conflicting as Windows One Care Live has its own AntiVirus scanner. Running two AV programs is usually not the best thing to do as it can cause slowdowns. Everything on your PC will be scanned twice... once by each scanner. You may want to disable or uninstall one of them and see if that helps.
