Well...I sometimes receive this message as I boot up the computer like a few weeks ago, I received this message and then I had to restore the backup of the OS and then everything was ok afterwards, but today this message has occured again, so I have to do the same thing. The question is like if this is the problem of the harddisk, even if I restore the OS or the C drive, I will still receive the same message, but I don't. I am just wondering what the cause of it would be?
What is the message you are getting? It would help us to figure our what may be happening to your system.
you can try doing a chkdsk c: /f on your hard drive, that can fix any file corruption on your drive that might be causing read errors. If you are getting input/output errors, you might have a bad motherboard.
Well...It seems that this happens every other two or three weeks in random times, so you won't know when it happens. When the computer boots up and gets in the POST, the error message, "A Disk Read Error Occured. Press CTRL ALT DEL to restart. Since I have Acronis Image for my backup, and as soon as this happens, I restore the whole image of my OS, but I will lose all the current data or some of the music, videos I downloaded. The question is what causes this? How do I fix it. I think it is real time to go for a new PC.
