WOW, has afterdawn.com grown since I last posted on here. Many many new separate categories.

Is there a way in Outlook Express, or any other email client to be able to retrieve email from the various accounts at the same time? In Outlook Express I have to "Switch User" and open up a different Outlook Express every time I want to check if there is any new mail at other domains.

For example, I start up my 'EMAIL CLIENT' (whatever it may be) and then it would start checking vernon@abc.com vernon@def.com vernon@xyz.com .... so on and so forth. Is that possible? It would really make life simpler for anyone that has so many email accounts and wants to check them all at once. Many thanks!

UPDATE I spent considerable time with Google after I posted this, and found some interesting solutions. For one thing Outlook Express does have the ability to retrieve more than one account at a time. You have to go into Tools, Accounts and add another account with all the info it asks for. Repeat as needed for more accounts. However, when you "get mail" it reads all the mail into the default mail account where this is setup. You would then need to delete this mail after reading it, moving it or whatever. You CAN leave it on it's individual server by checking a box in the setup of the accounts, thereby allowing you to retrieve it with a "switched user" account.

The advantage I see is that I have emails for our Heartnut business, some come to bestheartnuts.com some come to Heartnutgrowers.com, etc. I also have emails that come to me from those that visit my didgeridoo site, and there are 2 emails for that. Then there is the Toy Fox Terrier domains we own, and mail will come to those domains as well (If I set it up so). The nice part about having separate email accounts is if I reply to someone that is interested in growing heartnuts, and I use my vernon at bestheartnuts (dot) com address, it looks very nice as he will see this in his headers and not just my "main" account from our satellite ISP. It gives a bit more suave' to the message.

ALSO I have been looking into 2 different programs that will do what I was intending to do. One is called POP Peeper and the other is ePrompter. Both will scan all 10 of my email accounts and let me know if I have any email, AND which one and how much. POP Peeper is way more feature rich. It looks like a regular email client and even has the ability to reply, forward, download just headers, or x amount of lines, You can check the boxes on the left side for all the email that you want to check and it does 10 in about 20 seconds. Checks 5 at a time (you can set this value to anything form 1 on up) If you click on the delete next to the email message in the right hand pane you will get a "X" and next time you check that email it will delete it off the server. Nice way to get rid of spam. Another caveat is that when you set it up it has a wizard that asks if you want to have it retrieve all your email accounts automatically. Click yes and ALL every one, even in Thunderbird, etc are displayed with a check next to them Remove the check and they are NOT added automatically. When you are satisfied with the ones you want (all have different color schemes) click next and they are automatically added. All that is left is to go to each individual account and set up the password for each.

ePrompter is a simpler program that also resided in the task bar right side and desktop (shortcut icon). It works exactly as it should as well. It takes a manual insertion of each account. Not a big deal because you only need to do it once. You can name each account, change the circle color associated with that account along with the center "number" feature color. When you right click on any space of this program one of the options is update. When you update all 10 of my emails are logging in and checking mail. I see AVG Antivirus popping up checking all those emails for viruses, as they too come down on same port as email. Once you have mail in this program you can view the headers, etc. If you wish to delete it at the server end, simply put an x or click delete on the message, and it will delete it or if you click "all" it will ask if you want to delete all. Next time you "update" it will delete it at the server end. Gets rid of spam that way. The POP Peeper program will delete in similar way. However in the ePrompter program you can right click on ANY individual account and hit update and it re-checks the mail again, and at that time it deletes it at the server. This feature of deleting mail on various accounts can be applied globally. If you had x (delete) emails on 4 of the accounts that received new email, you can click update all and it would delete all the x marked messages at those 4 accounts as well as check for any new mail at all accounts.

My preferences are leaning toward the POP Peeper program, but for ease and simplicity the ePrompter program is more than capable. Only limit is the ePrompter is limited to only 16 email accounts. If you need more there are work around at their website on this.

One last note. Both programs can check you email on intervals specified or manual (meaning you manually tell them to check).

You can check out either of these programs at their respective website if you are interested.
ePrompter web site and POP Peeper web site

Last night is the first time I saw these programs and I do not work for or get a paid commission from either company. I'm just passing on some info on what I found. There are way more, but these are just 2 I saw as promising and tried.
