Hi all, Just recently the computer has started acting up LOL
If I go onto the Ryanair site, I get a message saying Real player is trying to gain access to my PC Allow or not... I tried both allow and not allow and then the internet turns off and then restarts again, and the same message keeps appearing and turns off/on. I have uninstalled realplayer and all seems ok, is there conflict with real player that causes this,??

    any advice grateful!!

Are you trying to go to the Ryanair site directly from your browser or clicking a link or an ad in Realplayer (I hope not). I haven't even looked at Realplayer for years, so please forgive my confusion. Realplayer is usually one of the first apps I remove when setting up a new PC (if it's bundled). Realplayer used to be bad news a few years ago and there are too many other better media players around to be bothered with it.

Problem sorted.. I just deleted real player completly and I can browse away on the Ryanair site, it only seemed to be with this particular site though, It was a seperate link It only started a few days ago, I was looking to book some flights and after a couple of minutes a message would appear saying realplayer wanted to do something, and as I had it installed, didnt think it was bogey, then the connection would stop and start again, bit of a nuisance really if I wanted to book something.
Which other media players would you recommend? as some of the media here automatically request its played on Real player?? many thanks!!

I'm happy you have your problem sorted out. As for an all in one media player, I use MPC Star. This thing plays every audio and video file I ever need and more including real audio and real video with some nice extra features included. The program size is a little large compared to VLC and Media Player Classic but I don' care because it plays everything audio and video (including .vob and .ifo) and it's free with no ads or spyware.

    Check it out here:

Seems to me that that I had a bit of a problem hitting the "download" button also. Took forever. I noticed there was a new version out so I just now downloaded from download.com instead. It took two minutes.

    Try here:

I received the same message but that's only an initial estimate. I use Firefox and the "save file" option when downloading. Once started it should pick up speed and breeze right through in minutes (with a broadband coonection of course). Otherwise I have no idea why it would take you so long to download. It's only 29mb.
